Talayan

Buluan is a historic lakeside town famous for its rich cultural heritage and scenic wetlands surrounding the large Buluan Lake. Its flat lakeshore terrain supports active agricultural farming and local trade.

Rajah Buayan is named after Rajah Buayan, a historic title associated with one of the major pre-colonial sultanates of Mindanao. The municipality is primarily agricultural, with rice fields and other crops spread across its low-lying plains. Rivers and fertile land give the town a largely rural character.

Pagalungan is known for its wide rice fields and its location near the Mindanao River, one of the major river systems in Mindanao. It once served as the capital of the former undivided Cotabato province from 1966 to 1973, giving the town an important place in regional history. Rivers, floodplains, and agricultural land dominate the surrounding landscape.

General Salipada K. Pendatun is an inland agricultural municipality named after a prominent historical leader, known for its rich rice and corn production. Its flat lowland terrain is supported by major river irrigation.

South Upi is known for the culture of the Teduray people, one of the Indigenous communities with deep roots in the area. The municipality is characterized by forests, rivers, waterfalls, and mountain landscapes that offer strong potential for nature and cultural tourism. A 2025 Bangsamoro Parliament bill proposed renaming the municipality Teduray to further recognize its indigenous identity, but the proposed name change still requires the legal process for approval.
